Happy New Year ❤️
I can’t quite believe we’re standing on the edge of a brand-new year again.
I hope you’ve had a gentle festive season and managed to carve out moments of rest amongst the celebrations, the busyness and (let’s be honest) the chaos of December.
I’ve always loved this in-between time during the holidays. That soft pause where one year hasn’t quite ended and the next hasn’t fully begun. It feels like the perfect opportunity to slow down, breathe, and really check in with yourself before the world speeds up again.
Every year, I use these final days of December to reflect. I pop the kettle on, make my favourite coffee, pull out a fresh journal (there’s nothing quite like that first blank page), and gently look back on the year that’s been. What worked well? What felt heavy? What did I learn? And what do I want to lovingly leave behind?
I try to look at all areas of my life rather than focusing on just one. Work, health, relationships, rest, joy – because they’re all so beautifully connected.
January has always felt like a month for health, wellbeing and nourishment for me. Not in a “new year, new you” kind of way, but more of a coming home to yourself way.
With the colder days, darker nights and quieter energy of winter, I really lean into slowing down. I love creating simple self-care rituals throughout the month – long hot baths, nourishing skincare, warm meals, early nights, and time curled up with a good book or series. It’s my permission slip to rest without guilt.
Life feels busy all year round, doesn’t it? So January is often when I finally catch up on the books, podcasts and box sets that have been patiently waiting for me. Please send over your recommendations – I’ll be wrapped in a blanket somewhere, fully embracing cosy mode.
This year, I’m focusing on intentional movement rather than pushing myself.
In 2026, we’re seeing a big shift in wellness towards nervous-system-friendly practices. Think Pilates, somatic movement, breath-led exercise and slower, more mindful ways of strengthening the body.
I’m continuing to explore movement that supports longevity, joint health and hormone balance – movement that leaves me feeling energised rather than depleted. It feels like such a refreshing change from the “all or nothing” approach we were once encouraged to follow.
I don’t make resolutions anymore, and I know so many of you feel the same. Instead, I set intentions.
Gentle, flexible intentions that support how I want to feel, rather than boxes I feel pressured to tick.
For me, 2026 is about:
When I add in little things that genuinely make me feel good, I’m far more likely to keep showing up for them – and for myself.
Reflexology continues to bring me so much joy, and I’m feeling incredibly inspired by the direction it’s moving in this year.
In 2026, we’re seeing a deeper integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine principles within reflexology, with a stronger focus on:
There’s also growing interest in ear reflexology, facial reflexology and acupressure, which I’m really excited to explore further.
I’m so looking forward to continuing to develop my practice, learning new techniques, and bringing these beautiful, time-honoured approaches into our treatment space in a modern, accessible way.
There are lots of ideas gently brewing behind the scenes for ABWR and the team, and I can’t wait to share more with you as the year unfolds.
As we step into 2026, I’d love to know:
Thank you, truly, for being part of this journey. Your support, trust and presence mean more than you know.
From all of us here at AB Wellness & Reflexology, we’re so excited to welcome you back into the treatment room as we begin another year together.
Wishing you a calm, nourishing and joy-filled start to 2026.
Here’s to softer living, deeper listening, and taking beautiful care of ourselves – one step at a time.
